i had this problem as well.. i got told it was xp service pack 2, so i reinstalled xp with service pack 1 and so far its fixed this problem, now i need find out how get sp2 without crashing eve...

right click your ship in the ships/items box thingy, and drone bay option should still be there.. in station the drone bay from pre exodus still works.. then out station its at bottom of overview...
